When to Take CBD Oil for Sleep

The quality and duration of your sleep are directly related to your overall health and well-being, so if you suffer from sleep deprivation, NOW is the time to take CBD. As a stress and pain relief agent, CBD works with your endocannabinoid system to support a healthy mood and general calm without the intoxicating effects of THC or over-the-counter sleeping pills.

SLEEP DEPRIVATION IN AMERICA

You might be surprised to learn that jellyfish never sleep, but they’re not the only ones! The American Sleep Association

estimates that over 70 million Americans suffer from sleep disorders. That’s one in five people who suffer from this wretched curse, so chances are that you or someone you know is one of them. We have a big problem with sleep deprivation in the United States, which is exacerbated by our relentless pace and obsession with productivity. We’re sleeping less to get more done, and it’s killing us!

Sleep deprivation is linked to:

• Poor cognitive performance
• Car accidents
• Relationship problems
• Anger
• Depression
• Stress
• Hypertension
• Diabetes
• Heart disease
• Decreased motor function
• Weakened immune system
• And more

Fact: The American Academy of Sleep Medicine found that people who sleep less than 7 to 9 hours per day are more likely to develop cancer.

If you’re still feeling dubious about the importance of sleep, allow me to poke your ego. In addition to accelerating your skin’s aging process, sleep deprivation can also lower your libido!!!! If you’re one of the 70 million Americans who suffer from sleep deprivation, taking steps to improve sleep should be your top priority.

PRESCRIPTION SLEEPING MEDICATION SIDE EFFECTS

Making lifestyle changes that support better and longer sleep is the first step in addressing sleep problems. Sometimes, people do not find this solution sufficient, so they resort to prescription sleeping pills. While it might seem like the most logical choice, is it the best choice? We don’t think so! There’s no doubt that prescription sleeping pills can cause many unpleasant side effects, including:

● Headaches
• Nightmares
• Nausea
• Constipation
• and much more

However, the problems don’t end there. As long-term use continues, tolerance develops, which leads to increased dosage, ultimately leading to addiction. Wouldn’t it be great if there was a natural sleep aid that could lengthen and improve your sleep? It turns out there is!

CBD OIL – THE NATURAL SLEEP SOLUTION

There is growing interest in CBD oil as a non-addictive sleep disorder treatment, but how does it work, and when should you take CBD oil for sleep?

This article will explore some of the most frequently asked questions on CBD and sleep. Here we go!

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE CBD OIL TO WORK?

CBD oil is usually applied under the tongue, bypassing the digestive system, so the effects are felt much faster than other methods. CBD oil’s effects typically manifest within 30 minutes to an hour after application, although individual responses can vary. Numerous factors influence a consumer’s experience, including their weight and metabolism, the state of their endocannabinoid system, and overall health. As you wait for CBD to take effect, you may want to indulge in a relaxing activity like taking a warm bath or reading a book, but for the love of counting sheep, please turn off your phone and TV.

DOES CBD OIL MAKE YOU SLEEPY?

Yes, kind of. Several factors disrupt sleep, such as anxiety, stress, and pain, which can all be alleviated by CBD. If there are no such issues, it is more likely that a person will drift off into a deep and rejuvenating sleep. In a nutshell, CBD calms the mind and reduces pain, allowing an individual to sleep better and longer. When it comes to better sleep, we recommend using a CBD oil containing a full spectrum of cannabinoids, flavonoids, and

terpenes, which, when combined, work synergistically to provide more robust and longer-lasting effects.

HOW LONG DO THE EFFECTS OF CBD OIL LAST?

CBD oil usually lasts between 8 and 12 hours, but several factors can influence the duration of its effects, including dosage, frequency of use, metabolism, diet, and lifestyle.

Indica or Sativa for Sleep?

Is indica or sativa better for sleep? This is an important question and one worth exploring a little.

DOES INDICA MAKE YOU SLEEPY OR HYPER?

It is impossible to provide a one-size-fits-all answer to this question, but most people find that Indica strains are more sedative than energizing. Thus, CBD strains from the Indica family are known to relieve stress, reduce pain, and improve sleep.

DOES SATIVA MAKE YOU SLEEPY OR HYPER?

Sativa dominant strains tend to be energizing, but individual responses vary. A Sativa product is perfect for a midday pick-me-up or for situations that require creativity and focus.

Additionally, Sativa products can help handle social anxiety, allowing the consumer to enjoy social events more fully.

IS INDICA OR SATIVA BETTER FOR SLEEP?

When it comes to better sleep, Indica is an obvious winner due to its calming physical and cerebral effects.

CAN CBD TREAT SLEEP APNEA?

Although CBD oil has not been proven to treat sleep apnea, people often use it to cope with the condition’s symptoms. To date, there is insufficient scientific evidence to conclude CBD’s efficacy in treating sleep apnea. If you suffer from sleep apnea, you should consult your doctor before incorporating CBD into your sleep routine.

DOES CBD OIL LOWER YOUR CORTISOL?

Cortisol indeed gets a bad rap, but it isn’t entirely bad. It functions as nature’s alarm system, helping our bodies regulate stress. Stress and sleep deprivation are the two factors that contribute to chronically high cortisol levels, which can result in health

problems. Thankfully, CBD can lower cortisol levels by improving sleep and reducing stress.

CAN I TAKE CBD WITH MELATONIN?

Since we naturally produce melatonin to regulate our sleep cycles, CBD and melatonin can be taken together. The main difference between melatonin and CBD is that melatonin helps you fall asleep, while CBD enables you to stay asleep, but they work synergistically to promote restful sleep.

DOES CBD MAKE YOU TIRED THE NEXT DAY?

Taking CBD at bedtime should not make you feel tired the next day. Unlike sleep aids, CBD calms the mind, reduces pain, and restores the circadian rhythm rather than causing sleepiness or intoxication. CBD oil’s effects typically last about 8 hours, so you shouldn’t feel groggy or fatigued when you wake up. Instead, you should wake up bright-eyed and bushy-tailed!

HOW TO MAKE YOUR OWN CBD OIL?

It’s easy to make your own CBD oil, and you only need two ingredients: hemp and carrier oil. Preparing CBD oil at home involves two steps: decarboxylation and infusion. Hemp contains

compounds that are not active on their own; they must be decarboxylated or heated to become active. Usually, hemp is smoked, but making CBD oil requires heating the hemp in other ways, such as baking it, heating it on the stove, or using a pressure cooker. Once you’ve decarboxylated the flower, you’ll

need to infuse it in the carrier oil. This allows the beneficial compounds in the flower to be released into the oil. Choosing a hemp strain high in CBD and healthy carrier oil is best. Avoid highly refined oils like corn or vegetable oil. This is a basic recipe, so feel free to play with it. For flavor, try adding extracts!

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of high-CBD-hemp flower
  • 1 cup carrier oil (we favor MCT oil)
  • extract of your choice (optional)

CBD Oil Infusion Instructions:

1. Preheat the oven to 250°F.
2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
3. Break your flower up into small pieces and bake or decarboxylate for 50 minutes to an hour. Word to the wise, be prepared for your house to smell like Cheech & Chong’s while it bakes.
4. Once the material has been baked for the required time, remove it from the oven and allow it to cool fully.
5. Meanwhile, add 1 cup of coconut oil to the top of a double boiler and 1 cup of water to the bottom. Heat the coconut oil until it melts completely.
6. Add 7 to 10 grams of decarboxylated hemp to the melted carrier oil.
7. The mixture should be heated for 30-60 minutes, stirring occasionally. Keep the heat below 200 degrees Fahrenheit, though 130 to 150 degrees is ideal.
8. Place a strainer/sieve over a glass bowl and line it with cheesecloth. After pouring the mixture through the sieve, gently squeeze the cheesecloth to remove excess oil.
9. Transfer infused oil into a storage container and store it in a cool dark location or in the fridge.

Homemade CBD oil should be used within six months to a year. You can add the finished product to your beverage of choice or ingest it sublingually. The oil can even be applied directly to your skin or incorporated into body care products. Take advantage of the benefits in infinite ways!

WHAT IS THE BEST CBD OIL PRODUCT FOR SLEEP?

In the vast sea of CBD products on the market, you may find it overwhelming to find the right one. For a more focused search

and to find the best CBD products to meet your wellness needs, here are a few points worth paying attention to.

Isolate, Broad-Spectrum, Or Full-Spectrum?

When selecting a CBD product, it is important to determine if it is an isolate, broad-spectrum, or full-spectrum product. CBD isolate is the purest form of CBD and is the only option guaranteed to be THC-free. Unfortunately, due to its purity, it cannot provide the enhanced benefits of the Entourage Effect.

A Broad-spectrum product contains cannabinoids, terpenes, flavonoids, and other beneficial compounds that may work together to improve the product’s effectiveness. Broad-spectrum products usually contain negligible amounts of THC, but testing positive in a drug test is possible.

Full-spectrum CBD products contain terpenes, flavonoids, CBD, and all other cannabinoids, including trace amounts of THC (0.3% or less), which interact synergistically to give users a more powerful and longer-lasting effect known as the Entourage Effect. The presence of THC, even if negligible, may still be detected in a drug test.

Where was the hemp cultivated?

Although hemp can be grown anywhere, its quality is heavily dependent on the soil and climate. CBD that is organically grown or grown using organic farming practices is always the best choice.

How was it extracted?

Methods of extraction are important, and they have a direct

impact on the quality of the product. Extraction methods include oil extraction, solvent extraction, and C02 extraction, the latter being the cleanest and most concentrated method.

What is the CBD content of each serving?

For those who are new to CBD, it is important to understand the recommended dosage. Start with the recommended dose and increase it as necessary to achieve the desired effect.

Is a Certificate of Analysis available from the manufacturer?

COAs, or Certificates of Analysis, are documents issued by third-party certified testing labs that inform customers about the potency of the ingredients, the exposure to hazardous pollutants, and the terpene profiles of the products, which affect the aroma, flavor, and therapeutic properties of the products. In the absence of a COA, we recommend choosing a different product.

In Conclusion

There are many ways to consume CBD oil, including capsules, topicals, and edibles. CBD oil and gummies are our recommendations for sleep, where immediate results are desired, due to their rapid absorption rate. A full-spectrum oil, which contains CBD and other beneficial compounds like THC, terpenes, and flavonoids, creates a more robust, longer-lasting effect known as the Entourage Effect, which results in deeper and longer sleep.
